The National Law 26.160 establishes a mandatory process of relevamiento territorial, which consists on the evaluation of the land claimed by the native communities. A multi disciplinary technical team evaluates the disputed territories and searchs evidence of the native’s current occupation. We were lucky enough to take part in the one that took place in the community Potae Napocná Navogoh, and to share with them a historical day: the first time ever they could walk on their ancestral territory free from the fear of being persecuted, attacked or arrested for it.
